I had been exercising regularly trying to get back in shape after having had three kids. At my sister’s encouragement, I joined her in what was my very first hot yoga class. After the class my body felt great, and even more importantly, I felt great! I was immediately hooked on this new and challenging practice. My only regret was that I wished I had found yoga earlier in life. Although now I realise, I found it at just the right time. I don’t think I would have “got it” any earlier.
Yoga has made a huge impact on my life and truly changed my perspective. It has made me not only more aware of my own body, but also more aware of both the impact I have on those around me and the world we live in. It is these changes that I noticed early in my practice that made me want to become a more active part of this community. I was accepted into the Moksha Yoga teacher training in July 2009 and haven’t looked back. The training was a means to deepen my practice but also to find a greater connectedness to this amazing community, which I proudly call my sangha. I have since completed a Kid’s Yoga Teacher Training and will be off to Costa Rica in November 2010 to complete the Moksha Level 2 Teacher Training. And this is just the beginning of my life as a devoted student.
I have been transformed and blessed through my practice as well as my teaching and feel a deep sense of gratitude to the entire Moksha family. What a blessing to be a part this community!
