Rachel completed her yoga teacher training in Kelowna BC with Moksha Yoga International in 2014. She is an Ontario Certified Teacher and works with the Halton District School Board as a Specialist Teacher of the Blind. Her yoga practice started around 10 years ago at Moksha Yoga London, and wherever her job and life takes her, she always finds a Moksha to practice at. From directing a summer camp for children with special needs, to traveling for work with one of the largest international children’s charity and social enterprises – she always has her mat packed. Reading the needs of her students and possessing the intuitive ability to accommodate students so that their yoga practice is personal is of utmost importance to her.
As a committed and involved member of her community, she’s highly involved in any project that brings people, music, and yoga together. She is an avid camper, standup paddleboard, and outdoor enthusiast. She loves her community and her home yoga studio and of course – practicing yoga. She believes in eating well, living fully, loving hard, and surrendering deeply. She believes in the betterment of one’s self, the environment, the community, and the world; in spreading peace, tolerance, and love. Finally, Rachel believes that empathy and compassion go a long way toward solving injustice, inequity and conflict in today’s world.
If you see her around the neighbourhood, you’ll likely catch her riding her bike, snapping artsy photos of food, SUP’ing and surfing, playing a ukulele, or hanging with a creature of some sort!
