After taking her first yoga class from Jane Fonda in her parents basement sometime in the late 80’s, Sam grew to love the way each posture allowed her to explore her physical strength while teaching her the transformational benefits of aligning breath with movement. This began a consistent practice and study of Ashtanga yoga for over 10 years, 5 of them in Los Angeles with inspirational teachers Shiva Rea, Seane Corn and Bryan Kest, before returning to Canada in search of a yoga community that was committed to practicing on and off the mat. In 2007 she found Moksha and hasn’t looked back! Completing the teacher training in Kerala, India with Moksha co-founders Ted Grand and Jess Robertson taught Sam how to infuse yoga into her every day life; whether it’s practicing postures at the studio, bringing awareness to a moment, or just remembering to take a great big deep breath! Sam looks forward to sharing everything she’s learned along the way, as well as bringing her enthusiasm, energy and commitment to the incredible Moksha Yoga Burlington community.
